Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Applicant Tracking Systems and our resume scanner.
What is an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and how does this scanner help?
An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is software used by employers to collect, scan, sort, and rank job applications. Many legacy systems fail to parse complex layouts or miss vital skills because of vocabulary gaps. Our scanner uses advanced AI to simulate how an ATS parses your resume, checks for compatibility issues, runs a keyword gap analysis against your target job, and tells you exactly how to rank higher.
Is my personal data and resume content secure?
Absolutely. We prioritize your privacy. The text extracted from your resume is processed strictly in-memory during the AI analysis, and no profiles or databases are stored permanently on our backend. The uploaded resume file is permanently deleted from our temporary storage immediately after the analysis completes.
What file formats are supported by the resume scanner?
We support PDF documents (.pdf) and Microsoft Word documents (.docx and .doc). If you upload a Word document, our backend automatically converts it using headless LibreOffice before extracting content to verify visual consistency and section reading flow.
How is the overall ATS score calculated?
The overall compatibility score is calculated based on four main parameters: Completeness (presence of contact info, summary, standard sections), Formatting Compatibility (absence of scanner-blocking tables, graphics, columns, or layout errors), Keyword Coverage (domain vocabulary and technical skills), and Job Match (similarity to the optional job description you paste in).
How does the quantification metric check work?
ATS filters and hiring managers look for quantifiable business impact. Our scanner reviews your work experience description, identifies achievement statements, and checks if they contain numbers, percentages, or metrics. If they do not, it flags them and generates automated suggestions on how to rewrite them using the action-impact formula.
Do I need an account to use the ATS Resume Scanner?
